Run multi-step actions on a conversation in one click using saved macros.

Conversation Macros

A macro is a saved sequence of actions that can be applied to any conversation in a single click.

Supported actions

Action What it does
Set status Changes conversation status (Open, Resolved, etc.)
Set priority Sets priority to Urgent / High / Medium / Low
Assign to Assigns to a specific agent
Add tag Adds a tag to the conversation
Remove tag Removes a specific tag
Send reply Sends a pre-written reply message
Add internal note Posts an internal note visible only to agents

Creating a macro

  1. Go to Tools → Macros in the sidebar.
  2. Click New macro, give it a name, and add action rows.
  3. Save the macro.

Applying a macro

  1. Open a conversation in Inbox.
  2. Click the menu → Apply macro.
  3. Select the macro from the list — all actions run instantly.

Macros track usage counts so frequently-used ones bubble to the top of the list.
